The Heritage and Vision of The Bamboo Grove
The Bamboo Grove, nestled in the heart of Shanghai, was born from the shared vision of a passionate group of second and third-generation luthiers. Growing up during a period marked by the rapid commercialization and industrialization of Chinese society, these craftsmen harbored a deep desire to return to the traditional ways of instrument-making. They aspired to create musical instruments that reflected the integrity of materials, meticulous craftsmanship, and a lasting legacy, reminiscent of the past.
Expert Guidance from Seasoned Luthiers
This vision was not pursued in isolation. The founders of The Bamboo Grove were supported by some of the most experienced and revered luthiers in the industry. These senior craftsmen provided the fledgling company with invaluable technical knowledge and practical experience, ensuring that the instruments produced were not only authentic but also of exceptional quality.
Expansion to the United States
In 2013, The Bamboo Grove expanded its reach by opening an office in the USA. This strategic move was aimed at providing comprehensive solutions for musicians involved in alternative music genres within the United States. Additionally, the U.S. office was established with the goal of creating an extensive online database that includes oriental music scores, books, and recordings. This platform not only facilitates the distribution of musical works by Western musicians but also serves as a cultural bridge, connecting the East and the West through the universal language of music.
Through its commitment to traditional craftsmanship and its efforts to support and promote oriental music on a global scale, The Bamboo Grove continues to uphold its legacy while adapting to the needs of contemporary musicians around the world.
